Safety Specialist
Job Summary
The Safety Specialist will implement, manage and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA requirements. The individual will evaluate the plant procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe condition and to implement safeguards and solutions. Individual will also identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance, promoting safety awareness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct worksite audits to identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
Develop and implement strategies to reduce/eliminate risk.
Promote safety awareness through in house safety training and informational materials, tracking same.
Stay up to date with regulatory changes and update SOP's as needed.
Investigate workplace incidents and complaints.
Ensure all necessary OSHA reporting is completed in a timely manner.
Assist with emergency response plans.
Conduct training on the proper use of equipment and safety hazards for employees.
Actively manages Safety Committee.
Ensure the plant is compliant with all safety regulations.
Perform other duties as required.

Requirements
Education:
At least 1 year
Related Experience:
1-3 years preferred, on the job experience in a manufacturing environment.
Equipment/Software Skills:
Alchemy, Excel, Power Point.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR/First Aid certification
